A new stage for the Uruguayan renewable energy sector
Founded in 2009, initially under the name of Uruguayan Wind Energy Association (AUDEE), the organization later expanded its scope to represent various technologies linked to the energy transition.
Currently, its activity encompasses solar and wind power generation, electric mobility, energy storage systems, green hydrogen and other technological solutions for the transformation of the energy matrix.
Among its main initiatives is the organization of the LATAM Renewables Congress , which in its July 2026 edition brought together government authorities, companies and specialists to address the challenges of electrification and energy development in the country.
During that meeting, the agenda included discussions on electrical infrastructure, new energy demands, sustainable mobility and green hydrogen, with the participation of representatives from public companies such as UTE and ANCAP.
The renewal of the board of directors comes as Uruguay analyzes how to deepen its energy transition, incorporate new technologies and take advantage of the opportunities associated with electricity demand and the decarbonization of different productive sectors.
With the new authorities defined, AUDER will begin the 2026-2028 period with the continuity of Oroño and Mula San Martín in their main positions , along with a new formation of the teams responsible for supporting the development of the national renewable sector.
