Following the first leg of its 2026 tour, featuring high-attendance events, Future Energy Summit (FES) is already preparing its next gatherings in Latin America and the Caribbean. Between September and November, the platform will bring together companies, governments, investors, developers, and industry leaders in Peru, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Chile, and Brazil —markets currently experiencing pivotal moments in their energy development.
The new phase of the calendar coincides with energy procurement processes, auctions, regulatory reforms, and advances in battery storage that are redefining business opportunities in the region. These topics will be central to the agenda of each meeting, along with challenges related to infrastructure, financing, and electricity demand.
The tour will continue on September 28 with FES Peru in Lima , in a context marked by the recent presidential election and the sector's anticipation regarding the future direction of energy policy. The market is also closely monitoring the implementation of new electricity contracting mechanisms and pending regulations such as the Distributed Generation Law and the regulatory framework for green hydrogen.

Furthermore, Peru is beginning to position itself as one of the emerging markets for energy storage. Various analyses project the addition of approximately 700 MW by 2030, driven by Law 32249 and the future Regulation of Complementary Services. Companies such as ENGIE, Enel, Kallpa, Acciona, Sungrow, and Zelestra are already seeing opportunities in this sector.
The next stop will be FES Colombia , on October 1st in Bogotá, where the sector will arrive with its attention focused on the outcome of the presidential elections and the progress of the electricity system expansion processes. The country has 1.8 GW of awarded projects under construction, more than 5,000 MW pending development, and new signs indicating the incorporation of renewables and energy storage.
Among the topics that will shape the debate is the recent long-term clean energy contract auction launched by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, which includes specific products for solar photovoltaic generation and battery storage projects. This is in addition to the awarding of 1,792.9 MW of renewable energy in the fifth Firm Energy Obligation auction, while the UPME (Mining and Energy Planning Unit) projects that the share of solar and wind energy could reach between 37% and 45% of the energy mix by 2037.
The agenda will continue on October 7 and 8 with FES Government & Investment , an initiative developed together with the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE) within the framework of the XI Energy Week , which will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

A space to connect regulation, investment and energy strategy
The proposal will be part of the main institutional energy forum in Latin America and the Caribbean, which brings together the 27 member countries of OLACDE. Ministers, regulatory bodies, electricity companies, investors, and top executives will participate in the meeting to discuss public policy, energy security, and attracting capital for new projects.
The tour will continue on October 28 and 29 with FES Chile in Santiago. The event will take place as the country moves forward with the new 2026/01 Supply Tender, which aims to contract 2,835 GWh annually to supply regulated customers from 2029 and 2030, resuming long-term contracts for 15 years.
At the same time, the Chilean market is entering a new phase for energy storage. The recent update to Supreme Decree No. 88 expanded the regulatory scope to include small-scale storage systems, enabling new opportunities for battery projects of up to 9 MW connected to the National Electric System.
The final stop will be FES Brasil , taking place on November 3rd in São Paulo, marking Future Energy Summit's debut in Latin America's largest electricity market. The event comes just weeks before the first national auction for stand-alone energy storage systems, considered one of the most significant regulatory milestones in recent years for the Brazilian energy sector.
The government confirmed two bidding processes for December 2026, with 15-year contracts and supply starting in 2028. The measure seeks to provide flexibility to a system that will need approximately 38 GW more by 2034 and that already faces increasing operational constraints due to the expansion of renewable generation.
With this new phase, Future Energy Summit will continue to bring together hundreds of executives, authorities, investors and leading companies in the energy sector in the markets where some of the main investment decisions in Latin America and the Caribbean are concentrated today.
