Following the recent award of 325 MW and the announcements made during FES Caribe, SL Rack exclusively announced that it is monitoring the local market, identifying opportunities to contribute its international expertise in photovoltaic structures. The German solar structure manufacturer seeks to strengthen its presence in the region.
During the meeting organized by Future Energy Summit (FES), Hans Glaser , the company's Latin American manager, highlighted that the country is experiencing a period of great dynamism for the development of new projects, especially after various authorities advanced the preparation of new competitive processes to incorporate BESS and renewable capacity.
“SL Rack is a pioneer in the photovoltaic sector with over 30 years of experience, supplying almost 40 GW from its own factory in Germany,” said Glaser.

The executive maintained that the company's strategy has historically focused on combining technological innovation with economic competitiveness. "SL Rack is a world leader in development, innovation, and research, focusing on the best price-quality ratio," he stated.
The company's interest comes amid growing activity in the Dominican energy sector. During the event, Ricardo Guerrero , Director of Electricity at the National Energy Commission (CNE), announced that the country is working on a new tender to incorporate BESS systems into existing renewable energy projects.
Meanwhile, Edward Veras , executive director of the CNE (National Energy Commission), anticipated that more than 800 MWh could be up for grabs in future tenders , while Betty Soto , Vice Minister of Innovation and Energy Transition, projected a scenario that could reach 2,000 MW of storage capacity in the coming years. These developments come after the awarding of 325 MW to BESS in the recent EDES-LP-NGR-01-2025 tender and explain the interest the market is generating among technology providers like SL Rack.
Along with the growing demand, SL Rack is committed to solutions that optimize installation costs and improve the durability of photovoltaic plants. According to the executive, this philosophy has been with the company since its inception.
“From the beginning, the owner and CEO, Ludwig Schletter, was clear that to succeed in the company we had to work with the best products,” he said.

As part of this strategy, the firm uses Magnelis in components intended for above-ground projects, a solution aimed at maximizing the strength and lifespan of structures.
“On the ground, for example, we work with straps, braces and posts using a Magnelis material,” he explained.
For rooftop installations, however, the company opts for aluminum structures due to the advantages they offer in terms of weight and ease of assembly.
“For roofs, again due to weight considerations, we work with an aluminum structure,” he explained.

The latest innovation is aimed precisely at that segment. It's a solution for flat roofs made with Magnelis and designed to simplify installation.
“We have developed a very successful product: a Magnelis product for a flat roof with a south and west to east solution,” he commented.
Glaser explained that the system incorporates a three-degree tilt and a click-type assembly mechanism that significantly speeds up construction times.
With new tenders in preparation and a growing focus on energy storage, the Dominican Republic continues to solidify its position as one of the Caribbean's most dynamic markets for renewable energy development. In this context, technology providers like SL Rack are looking to contribute their extensive experience from tens of gigawatts of installed capacity worldwide to support the next generation of projects in the country.
