Joan Hinojo, Director of Expansion and Strategic Alliances at Grupo CIRCUTOR , was elected this Monday as president of AEDIVE , the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility, at a key moment for the consolidation of electric vehicles and the deployment of charging infrastructure in Spain.
An industrial technical engineer specializing in Electricity from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Hinojo is one of the pioneers in promoting and developing electric mobility in Spain and was part of the candidacy made up of representatives from 15 companies, elected on June 30 during the General Assembly to form the new Board of Directors of the association for the period 2026-2030.
His appointment comes at a time of growing momentum towards electric mobility and significant challenges to accelerate the deployment and consolidation of the charging network, strengthen industrial competitiveness and promote the adoption of electric vehicles in all transport segments.
Likewise, David Post , representing Endesa; Jorge Muñoz , for Iberdrola; and Carlos Álvarez , for Powerdot, will assume the three vice-presidencies of the association, reinforcing the weight of the main charging operators in the new Board of Directors.
Completing the list of positions are Javier Lázaro , who will assume the Treasurership representing the national manufacturer of charging points and batteries X-Charge, and Francisco Casas , CEO of emovili, who will serve as Secretary of the Board of Directors.
The new Board of Directors, which includes the companies Baleària; BeePlanet Factory; Engie; Electrotruck; Grupo Ruiz; ChargeGuru; Iberdrola | bp pulse; Repsol; and Zunder, begins its term with the aim of strengthening AEDIVE's role as a leading voice in electric mobility in Spain.
In this context, the new president stated that "AEDIVE must maintain and strengthen its role as a benchmark for meetings, dialogue, and collaboration across the entire electric mobility value chain. We are at a crucial stage, full of opportunities, in which we must work together—industry, operators, government agencies, and other stakeholders in the ecosystem—to accelerate the transition to increasingly decarbonized, efficient, and competitive mobility."
Objectives for the period 2026-2030
AEDIVE's strategic priorities in this new phase include:
- Intensify collaboration between electric vehicle manufacturers and the charging infrastructure industry and operation.
- Accelerate the rollout of high-power charging and strengthen interoperability
- To highlight the strategic role of the industry and technology associated with charging infrastructure as an essential part of the automotive value chain
- Promote the electrification of heavy transport (buses and trucks) and the development of its charging ecosystem
- Promote the development of electric fleets
- Consolidate the public urban and peri-urban alternating current (AC) charging network
- To stimulate the electrification of shared urban mobility, last-mile logistics, and light electric vehicles in their contribution to the calmer city
- Promote smart charging and its integration with renewable energies
- Collaborate with public administrations to develop tax and financial incentives and a stable, predictable and investment-friendly regulatory framework
Arturo Pérez de Lucia , CEO of AEDIVE since its founding in 2011, emphasized that "we are living through a period in which electric mobility will consolidate not only from an environmental perspective, but also from industrial, technological, energy, economic, and social dimensions. This is a national project to make Spain a more resilient economy in an increasingly complex geopolitical context, and the new Board of Directors will contribute to strengthening the strategies and narrative necessary to accelerate this transformation."
