The Argentine government officially announced the results of the AlmaSADI battery tender and, as Energía Estratégica anticipated after the opening of the economic bids , it was confirmed that Genneia, DQD Energy, 360Energy, Aluar and Intermepro will be the companies responsible for developing the 20 winning stand-alone BESS projects , for a total of 700.5 MW of power.
The award was formalized through Resolution 155/2026 of the Secretariat of Energy , which puts an end to one of the most competitive processes in the Argentine electricity sector, considering that the call received 235 technical offers for 8338 MW , more than 11 times the power tendered, which ratified the market's interest in entering the storage business.
Genneia was the company that obtained the largest share of the tender, winning seven projects totaling 421 MW , followed by DQD Energy , with eight projects totaling 149.5 MW . Further behind were 360Energy , with three plants totaling 68 MW , while Aluar added one 50 MW project and Intermepro another of 12 MW .
And considering the incentive value provided for in the tender specifications, the average award value was around USD 8427 x MW/month .
The result practically replicated the simulation published days ago and developed from CAMMESA's economic evaluation tool, which already placed those five companies as the best positioned to take all of the power summoned.
Genneia 's commercial strategy was key to winning the bid. The company submitted the most competitive offers in the process, including Bragado I-II (100 MW) at USD 7,397 per MW/month , the lowest price in the entire tender. Other projects that entered the bidding included Cruz Alta I (120 MW) at USD 7,536 per MW/month , Crespo (50 MW) at USD 7,697 , Chascomús (45 MW) at USD 7,888 , as well as Santa Rosa Sur (30 MW) , Cañada de Gómez (36 MW) , and Mar de Ajó (40 MW) .
DQD Energy, for its part, concentrated all its projects in northeastern Argentina, including Villa Ángela, Castelli, San Martín, La Leonesa, CD 22, CD 5, Charata, and Presidencia Roca , while 360Energy secured the Realicó II , Mayer , and Nonogasta Solar power plants. The list is completed by BESS Goya , owned by Aluar , and Intermepro G1 Pirané .

More than 7 GW were left out and SerCA appears as the next opportunity
The distribution of the awarded capacity reached the Province of Buenos Aires (185 MW), NOA (150 MW), NEA Chaco-Formosa (161.5 MW), NEA Misiones-Corrientes (50 MW), Litoral Entre Ríos (50 MW), Litoral Santa Fe (36 MW) and the Pampa region (68 MW), reinforcing the nodes identified as priorities to improve the reliability of the Argentine Interconnection System.
Another key finding of the process was the level of economic competition. The bids submitted ranged from USD 7,397 to USD 12,500 per MW/month, while the weighted average price of the awarded bids was USD 8,338.54 per MW/month.
Finally, the Government decided not to increase the allocated volume , despite the rumors that circulated in recent weeks about a possible expansion above 700 MW.
Consequently, more than 7000 MW of projects were left out of this first call, even though they had participated in the competitive process.
Given this scenario, the Additional Reliability Reserve Service (SerCA) emerges as the primary alternative to absorb part of this pipeline. The mechanism, established in Resolution 400 of the Secretariat of Energy , is expected to become the next tool for channeling new storage projects that were not awarded at Alma SADI, in a market that has demonstrated a supply far exceeding the initially required capacity.
